Hitting the Nuts: Even Professional Poker has a Farm System...Hitting the Nuts is the true story of the 2009 Scott County, Indiana Poker Championship as told by those who were there. This mockumentary follows the town preacher, busty waitress, lovable redneck dad, portly returning champion and a simple Amish farmer as they do battle in the towns annual, illegal Texas Hold em Tournament. When a player “hits the nuts”, it means he cannot lose, because he is holding the best hand possible in that given scenario. The film was a big success at the 2011 Derby City Film Festival, having won the Best Feature Film and described by Director Kristopher Rommel as “Perhaps the funniest movie in the history of our film festival”. Directed by Joe Boyd, the film also won the Audience Choice for Best Feature Film in the 2010 Cincinnati International Film Festival.
